Why the preaching of the Cross trumps <\/em>all of man\u2019s arguments.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n As we are ever-more aware, we face a culture that is increasingly hostile to our faith. But we have a mandate: to be \u201calways ready to give a reason <\/em>for the hope that is in you\u201d (1 Pet. 3:15). Jude v.3 \u2013 \u201cwe should earnestly contend for the faith once delivered to the saints.<\/em>\u201d If you are to contend for the faith you have to know what you are contending for, and in what way you are contending. But <\/strong>we <\/em><\/strong>need to set the agenda.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n We don\u2019t want to be beaten down and driven into the world\u2019s agenda! Apologetics <\/em>is a biblical word, meaning \u2018to give an answer<\/em>\u2019. In Steve Maltz\u2019 <\/em>book, \u2018Into the Lion\u2019s Den\u2019 <\/em>chapter 12,1 <\/strong>he has given us our mission statement in this from Titus 2:11-15 \u201cthe grace of God that brings salvation and teaches us to live godly lives \u2026 [to] teach encourage and rebuke with all authority.\u201d <\/em>So many things about culture, science and social order are taken for granted in our society, and we need to question them with authority!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Why the preaching of the Cross trumps all of man\u2019s arguments.
