Which church do you belong to? It really is a matter of life and death.

When the Lord called me to be a preacher of the Word, some sixty years ago, He used another preacher to inspire me. This was a mighty expositor of the Bible who ministered at Westminster Chapel in West London. Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones was so thorough that rumour has it that he was occasionally known to spend several sermons talking about a single punctuation mark! He was thorough!

Lloyd-Jones was a stickler for precise exposition: what Paul referred to in 2 Tim 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles (dissects precisely) the Word of truth.”
